Senior Technical Service Consultant to join our Titanium Technologies team, focusing on NA Coatings! This position will report directly to the Americas Value Creation Manager and be an integral part of our North America team at our Chemours R&D Discovery Hub in
Newark, DE.The Senior Technical Service Consultant focuses on engaging large coatings customers to demonstrate the value of Chemours products, proactively generates business value for the customers using Ti-Pure™ products and facilitates a harmonious relationship with our customers with prompt technical support and process knowledge.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:- Responsible for maintaining advantaged technical position and relationships with key coatings customers
- Responsible for relating Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) pigment technology into coatings system application opportunities
- Provide technical support to existing and new customers in targeted markets through supportive product qualifications, resolving application-related product complaints, and providing technical knowledge of products and applications
- Create extensive network with customer employees at headquarters, R&D, and manufacturing facilities to identify opportunities for value creation and engender brand preference
- Advocate customer viewpoint in development of new products and service offerings
- Promote new product and service offerings tailoring to individual customers technical needs
- Develop understanding of industrial knowledge, customer's process and technology and translate insights into new offering opportunities
- Plan, implement, and manage lab work for customer issues and value creation projects
- Engage in or lead customer-facing activities and projects to support business strategies at key customers through participation at the customer interface.
- Works closely with technology and marketing by providing voice of customer relative to TiO2 product performance and expectations of product attributes.
The following is required for this role:- BS degree or more advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent
- 5 + years (highly prefer 8 + years) of chemical manufacturing or technical service experience
- Strong technical knowledge in either TiO2 or coatings technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan and organize work in a dynamic environment
- Experience leading and managing projects; ability to effectively communicate internally and externally (i.e. customers, suppliers)
- Ability to travel 25% to customers and trade shows/conferences
The following is preferred for this role:- Demonstrated ability to work across functions to solve problems
- Experience working with Global teams/account management
- Strong Interpersonal and influence Management skills.
- Excellent business acumen skills able to translate business ideas into business opportunities
- Ability to present information and ideas in an articulate and organized way to a variety of internal and external audiences
