Your role and responsibilities
A Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for tailoring company solutions to meet the needs of customer use cases as part of creating proof of concepts in a sales cycle. Analyze large data sets and build advanced data models to provide valuable business insights. Assist Solution Consultants in the execution of RFP responses, customized demos, workshops, and any other Presales activities. Collaborate with the engineering team to understand customer feedback in the field and provide guidance on incorporating new technical features into products. Build and maintain presales demos and suggest enhancements, bug fixes, and new content into demo assets to be used in the field.
Required technical and professional expertise
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field
Prior experience in application or web programming or 2 years experience in: Data manipulation, database management and administration or business intelligence tool configuration and programming.
Solid experience in a business or technical analyst role for medium to large scale business software implementation projects.
Creating comprehensive cloud Finops strategies that align with industry best practices
Transforming and analyzing IT data sets to build TC models and showcasing business value to prospective clients
Preferred technical and professional experience
Knowledge of Cloud Service Providers products and services
One or more of the following knowledge areas is a plus:
PMP and/or Agile Methodology certification or relevant experience
Apptio product knowledge
TBMA certification
FinOps certification
AWS/Azure/GCP practitioner certification
Specific knowledge of IT services and financial management including budgeting cost allocations, capital & operating expense handling, program portfolio management, and application / infrastructure support.
