We are seeking an experienced and highly technical Tax Senior Manager with deep expertise in Partnership taxation (Subchapter K) to lead and expand the partnership tax practice of a reputable mid-market CPA firm. The ideal candidate will serve as a firmwide subject matter expert, advising both clients and internal teams on complex partnership tax issues, including allocations, transactions, compliance, and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the firm's primary technical resource onSubchapter K partnership tax matters, including complex allocations, special allocations, capital account maintenance, and Section 704(b) and 704(c) compliance
• Review and sign off on complex partnership tax returns (Forms 1065 and related filings)
• Provide tax consulting and transactional support on partnership formation, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, liquidations, and restructurings
• Advise clients on partnership tax planning opportunities, minimizing tax exposure, and complying with evolving tax law
• Support clients and legal counsel on drafting and interpreting partnership agreements with respect to tax allocations and economics
• Lead and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with firm and professional standards
• Collaborate with other tax leaders and firm management to expand service offerings and cultivate new business opportunities
• Mentor, coach, and develop staff at all levels; participate in recruiting and retention initiatives
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting partnerships and proactively communicate implications to clients and colleagues

Qualifications

• CPA, JD, or LL.M. in Taxation required
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive tax experience, with a significant focus on partnership taxation under Subchapter K
• Prior experience in a public accounting firm or law firm highly preferred
• Deep technical knowledge of partnership taxation, including partnership allocations, basis adjustments, disguised sales, Section 704(b)/(c), Section 754 elections, and partnership audit rules under BBA
• Demonstrated ability to lead client relationships and manage complex projects independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals
• Proven track record of mentoring staff and contributing to business development
