Senior Tax Accountant - Tandym Group : Job Details

A law firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced Tax Accountant for a promising Senior-level position with their growing team. In this role, the Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for a variety of firmwide tax-related activities.

ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Tax Accountant will:

• Prepare various Federal, State, and International business filings, local tax registrations, and sales/value added tax returns
• Reconcile tax accounts and payments while researching issues, as needed
• Research Federal, State, and International tax issues and prepare memos, as needed
• Assist with projects like automation revolving state tax compliance
• Coordinate and monitor foreign tax obligations with internal and external teams
• Maintain tax database/records
• Prepare and coordinate work papers for US and foreign tax returns
• Participate in the implementation of a new finance system pertaining to tax matters
• Work with the Partner Accounting team on various tax-related issues
• Produce tax reports for partners
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Tax Accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Experience in a Public Accounting role/setting
• Microsoft Excel proficient
• Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• CPA and/or parts passed
• Partnership experience
