ANSOL is in need of a Senior Systems/Software Engineer to support its customer – NAVAIR Unmanned Carrier Aviation (UCA) Program Office (PMA 268), specifically the Lead Systems Integrator Integrated Product Team (LSI IPT). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, systems engineering, and configuration management, with proven experience in leading efforts to correct software deficiencies and improve operational reliability. A key part of this role is to drive process documentation, apply engineering best practices, and enhance collaboration using tools such as Jira and Confluence. Job Description

A successful candidate will have the ability to develop and apply advanced methods, theories and research techniques to define engineering and software requirements, guidance and direction for implementation and testing of complex and advanced information systems requiring expert application of advanced knowledge. May plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects. Software engineering design and development utilizing advanced methods, theories and programming techniques to design, code, and document software programs and prepare, maintain, test, and evaluate system programs forunmanned air vehicle mission systems. May assess architecture and current hardware limitations, define and design complex system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. May coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system. Experience in supporting the design of feasibility studies, development and management of system requirements, allocation of system requirements to subsystem components, of test plans and associated procedures and the integration of complex hardware/software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical sustainment efforts across software products, ensuring issues are identified, prioritized and resolved efficiently.
• Manage and track software deficiencies, overseeing the correction process from discovery to deployment.
• Apply systems engineering principles to define and implement robust software configuration management (SCM) practices.
• Maintain and improve technical documentation, workflows and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, troubleshoot system issues and ensure continuous delivery of system updates.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, version control protocols and security guidelines.
• Design, implement and optimize Jira and Confluence environments for improved team collaboration and process transparency.
• Conduct regular reviews of software performance and recommend optimizations or improvements.

ANSOL has customized scheduling tools currently being licensed to PMA 268 to assist with integration planning and scheduling. You will also be involved with providing software development/integration schedule and task inputs so that PMA 268 Leadership can utilize ANSOL's toolsets for risk assessments and decision support

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or eight years of work experience in a related field is required.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. Security Clearance
• Must be able to support meetings and software-related test activities on-site at the customer location in NAS Patuxent River, MD or other locations TBD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as analytical and presentation skills.
• High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
• Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• NAVAIR/NAVSEA/NAVWAR experience is desired.
• Unmanned Air System (UAS) experience is desired.
• Software Support Activity (SSA) experience is desired.
