Position Details: The Senior System Administrator will support the Kobre & Kim's global IT systems and applications, ensuring 24/7/365 system availability across the 15 global offices. This includes managing, implementing, administering, and supporting the firm's business critical applications and core IT infrastructure, such as DMS/iManage, server/network rooms, Windows servers, ESX hosts, Cisco switches, and Azure cloud services. The position has hybrid roles of legal application support and infrastructure support. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as this role involves close collaboration with the Business Applications team, Information Security team, IT Service Desk, and external vendors. This position reports directly to the Senior Technical Manager, Global Infrastructure and Systems Administration. Location: The preferred work location is New York with three days a week in office requirement. Supervisor: Senior Technical Manager, Global Infrastructure and Systems Administration Responsibilities:
- Support applications such as DMS/iManage, CompuLaw, CAM, Intapp...etc.
- Support Windows Server environments (2022/2019/2016), VMware, and other infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, File Servers, Office 365, Azure Files, etc.
- Support technologies including Intune, Azure cloud, Citrix, ESX hosts, and Cisco networking.
- Define and enforce user account permissions and access control policies to maintain security and compliance, including procedures for account creation, modification, deletion, and group management.
- Collaborate with the Information Security team to implement and maintain security controls that protect systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats. This includes configuring firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems, and monitoring logs and alerts.
- Monitor system performance and availability of applications, databases, and servers; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal uptime and functionality.
- Work with Managed Services Providers, the Security Team, and the Business Applications Team to apply patches, updates, and security fixes across systems. Test updates in controlled environments before production rollout.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues and user support requests. Troubleshoot errors, performance issues, and connectivity problems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for reference, disaster recovery, and knowledge sharing within IT.
- Provide 24/7 support, including off-hours and weekend availability as needed.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, based on project and business requirements.
Required Qualifications: - In depth knowledge of legal applications (DMS/iManage, CompuLaw, CAM, Intapp...etc) with 7+ years of experience.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft core technologies: Windows Server OS, Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange, Intune, and Azure Cloud.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
- Experience with VMware ESX hosts, Citrix, and Cisco networking is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications: - Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or Azure Administrator.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, including hardware, networking, security, data protection, high availability, alerting, and patching.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments (especially Azure).
- Solid knowledge of data center network topologies (Cisco switches/firewalls) and architectures, both Layer 2 and Layer 3.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize work, create project plans/roadmaps, and drive initiatives to completion.
- Strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Strategic and data-driven problem solver.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of independently managing end-to-end project execution.
- Experience working in fast-paced, global IT support environments.
Education Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science or technology-focused discipline or equivalent experience.
At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is $127,000 (minimum) - $160,000 (maximum). This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate's actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, training, skills, and market data.
