Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join our Buildings group in Conshohocken or Philadelphia, PA!

This position involves working alongside engineers and architects as part of a design team, applying structural engineering principles to the successful design of low to mid-rise new construction projects, as well as evaluating existing structures for renovations or reuse.

Responsibilities
  • Independently apply knowledge of structural principles and practices in various assignments.
  • Prepare engineering calculations using computer software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations.
  • Create structural design plans and details in Revit.
  • Coordinate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Design and review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Analyze data, formulate solutions, and solve problems.
  • Provide guidance to structural engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
  • Perform field investigations and site visits as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering with a Structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited university; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Experience in Commercial, Science & Technology, Educational, and Municipal building projects is preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related structural engineering experience required.
  • PE license is required.
  • Basic/intermediate skill level and understanding of Revit, with a willingness to advance to an expert level.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical skills and knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts in steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
  • Ability to work effectively as a key team member and mentor junior engineers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic/intermediate understanding of structural engineering software such as RISA, RAM, TEKLA, TEDDS, etc., with willingness to learn and become proficient.
  • Capability to perform as a project engineer with limited guidance and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in English for written and verbal communication.
