With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world's most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Climate Adaptation and Water Management Team in either Little Rock, AR; Baton Rouge, LA; New Orleans, LA; Mobile, AL; or the New York City/New Jersey area.As a Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering and consulting services for a variety of projects, including those focused on heavy civil infrastructure, flood risk reduction, marine/waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, lock and navigation structure design etc.Role accountabilities:As a Structural Engineer, you will conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for general infrastructure projects, including but not limited to seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, climate adaptation and other infrastructure resilience initiatives.Other responsibilities include:

• Conducts structural related engineering investigations, calculations, research and planning work which has a well-defined scope.
• Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications.
• Works toward development of calculations, plans, specifications, and other contract documents for construction projects and assists with requests for information and approvals during construction.
• Assist with requests for proposals and scope definition during project planning.
• Works directly with a variety of engineering disciplines, office / project staff, client and sub-contractors, throughout the project life cycle, and therefore should have clear and concise, oral and written communication skills.
• Will exercise their own judgment on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Some travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.
• Mentor entry-level and junior structural engineering staff.

Qualifications & Experience:Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have experience in designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations, coupled with experience working on Federal and municipal resiliency and/or other large infrastructure projects. A Master's degree in Structural Engineering from a reputable institution is a plus, along with progressive experience in structural engineering, particularly focusing on infrastructure projects related to water management, flood control, and seismic resilience. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit is also helpful for this role.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
