Opportunity: Marine Structures Engineer
Mott MacDonald offers a career with a premier employer in the coastal, port, and harbor engineering industry. We focus on developing port and harbor infrastructure, coastline protection and restoration, and navigation projects. We are currently hiring a Marine Structures Engineer with 10 or more years of experience to support projects across the Northeast and North America, based in our New York City office.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Perform engineering analysis and design focused on ports and waterfront infrastructure for recreational, commercial, and industrial facilities.Develop plans, specifications, and construction documents.Develop technical reports and review technical work products at a senior level.Participate in site visits to project sites in the U.S.Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and scopes of work.Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- PE license in New York and New Jersey or relevant licenses.
- Successful experience in marine structures projects.
- Established client relationships with Ports and Agencies in North America.
- Strong technical and analytical skills in Marine Structures.
- Experience in developing plans and specifications for construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel as needed to interface with clients and teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across different offices and time zones.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of marine structures such as foundations, bulkheads, marina floats, piers, and boat ramps.
- Experience with modeling software like SAP2000 and LPILE.
- Experience in condition assessment of port and maritime facilities.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a TWIC card.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including 401k, medical, dental, vision insurance, disability coverage, paid holidays, PTO, parental leave, and life insurance. The salary range for this position is $137,000 - $167,000, determined by experience, education, and skills.
