The OpportunityThe global capital markets are among the largest markets in the world valued at $50T+ and growing. Transactions in these markets are complex. Critical, nuanced legal terms are woven into lengthy documents. These documents must be digested and analyzed by many different parties over the course of a single transaction and multiple decisions are made based on the terms laid out and quantitative and qualitative attributes within. This fundamental need plus a booming market drives enormous demand for precise extraction and benchmarking of legal terms.
Why We Need YouAt Noetica, we're redefining how corporate law is practiced with data-first technology. As a Senior or Staff SecOps Engineer, you'll be the architect and frontline defender of our security operations strategy - protecting a single-tenant platform used by some of the world's top law firms and financial institutions.
You'll work cross-functionally with ML PhDs, legal SMEs, platform and product engineers to safeguard sensitive data, detect and respond to threats, and ensure we scale securely as customer demand accelerates. Your work directly enables Noetica to operate in highly regulated environments while shipping features quickly and confidently.
Here's What You'll Be DoingAs a Senior/Staff SecOps Engineer, you will:
Design and operate end-to-end security monitoring and alerting systems, including log pipelines, detections, SIEM, and dashboards
Build and maintain incident response processes (playbooks, tooling, simulations) and lead IR efforts when incidents occur
Implement infrastructure-level security controls (network segmentation, IAM hardening, secrets management, etc.)
Partner with platform engineers to enforce least-privilege access and secure provisioning (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes)
Run vulnerability management and patch workflows across systems and dependencies
Design automated systems for audit logging, anomaly detection, and intrusion detection
Monitor and respond to threat intelligence and emerging CVEs; assess risk and prioritize mitigations
Collaborate with legal and compliance stakeholders to ensure we meet data privacy and regulatory obligations (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR)
Champion DevSecOps best practices to shift detection and prevention left in the development lifecycle
Lead threat modeling and tabletop exercises to pressure-test incident readiness
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or 5+ years in security operations, cloud infrastructure security, or SecOps engineering
Strong scripting or automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
Experience operating a SIEM platform and setting up custom alert rules and dashboards
Knowledge of incident response lifecycle, including tooling and communication protocols
Familiarity with cloud security best practices (AWS preferred)
Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and containerized environments
Clear understanding of vulnerability management, CVSS scoring, and remediation workflows
Strong collaboration and communication skills — you're comfortable interfacing with engineers and executives
Ability to communicate risk clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in data-sensitive or regulated industries
Background in designing or supporting SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks
Exposure to forensics or security telemetry tooling (CrowdStrike, Osquery, etc.)
Familiarity with securing machine learning or data-intensive platforms
Enthusiasm for legal, economic, or financial systems is a bonus
The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is $183,000-$255,000 USD. You will also be entitled to receive a significant early stage equity package and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
