The expected salary range for this position is $144,900 to $161,000, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will solve complex engineering problems, supporting nuclear plant operations while making critical technical decisions. Your superior knowledge in engineering disciplines and practical applications, combined with an excellent understanding of relevant codes and regulations, will be utilized to ensure operational excellence.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Execute advanced engineering and technical tasks that support nuclear plant operations.
  • Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses for technical projects.
  • Provide in-depth expertise to manage and implement engineering activities that enhance plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all engineering work, maintaining proper configuration management and adherence to standard design criteria.
  • Deliver technical expertise and consult directly to resolve equipment and system challenges.
  • Oversee task management related to engineering issues.
  • Propose innovative equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify constructions, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with regulatory changes.
  • Support plant design modifications, testing, and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Ensure all engineering outputs align with safety analyses, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate engineering personnel, including budgetary and planning responsibilities.
  • Take on additional assignments as directed by management, which could include emergency response duties, departmental coverage, and supporting outage activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) with a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership (e.g., Duty team lead, inspection lead) along with strong teamwork and leadership attributes.
  • Ability to maintain unescorted access requirements, subject to medical examinations/tests applicable to the role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
