Rite-Solutions is seeking a Senior SQL Database Developer to support a hybrid work arrangement, onsite at NSWC Dahlgren, VA.

You will be part of a team focused on cyber analysis and development to meet Navy and DoD needs for Cyber Situational Awareness, Command and Control, Mission Assurance, and Homeland Defense. This role offers the opportunity to grow your expertise alongside software engineering and cybersecurity professionals tackling modern military cyber defense challenges with innovative solutions.

The program involves identifying cyber key terrain through operational analysis, conducting cyber assessments, and developing modeling and simulation for cyber threat scenarios. Support also includes creating methodologies and frameworks for cyber risk assessment lifecycle. The team provides capabilities for rapid design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and operation of software and hardware to meet cyber defense needs. As a Senior Developer, you will implement new features in a critical application supporting mission assurance and operational management.

Position Responsibilities
  • Evaluating and troubleshooting SQL queries and stored procedures for performance optimization.
  • Performing daily checks of database services to ensure system availability.
  • Monitoring database health regarding resources such as memory and CPU usage.
  • Assisting developers with query design and tuning.
  • Performing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) as needed.
  • Diagnosing and resolving database system issues during service reductions or failures.
  • Consulting on database object design (tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, indices, etc.).
  • Developing and maintaining database jobs to ensure database health.
  • Ensuring proper configuration of database servers and settings.
    • Required Qualifications/Skills
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active or interim DoD TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as an SQL Developer or similar role.
  • Experience with relational database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server.
  • At least seven years of experience in relational database design, administration, or server management.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to database performance and failures.
  • Critical thinking, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
    • Desired Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience with tools such as SQL Server configuration, performance tuning, and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Database Administration and development, Transact SQL, and SQL Server Integration Services.
  • Experience working with DoD clients and cybersecurity projects.
