• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure and/or distributed systems.
• 5 years of experience in storage technologies and systems, including various storage media, file systems, or data management principles.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Oversee all aspects of Chronicle, functioning as both the Engineering Leader for three Software teams and the Chronicle Product Lead.
• Collaborate closely with other storage services to guide Google's storage efficiency roadmap.
• Own and influence key technical and product decisions, such as guiding Hard Disk Drive (HDD) platform technology choices.
• Make optimization choices across storage stacks.
• Guide the overall infrastructure storage product roadmap as storage systems evolve to support changing workloads and scale.
