About the Team:

The Terrestrial Software team is laying the foundation for an automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform. Their mission is to automate workflows across the entire Terran R lifecycle, from raw material intake to launch operations and eventually manufacturing on Mars. Currently, they partner with design, materials, manufacturing, and testing teams to develop enterprise applications, automation, data analytics, and AI solutions to accelerate progress. Long-term, they aim to create a modular, scalable software platform for autonomous operations on Earth and beyond. This team is for builders and thinkers eager to impact across functions and shape the digital future of space exploration.

About the Role:

On the Industrial Automation Software team, you will oversee the software development lifecycle, from conceptualization, trade studies, design, implementation, root cause analysis, to deployment.

  • Follow Agile practices, ensuring quality, continuous integration, and deployment readiness.
  • Solve complex problems with simple, elegant solutions, powering factory systems, hardware validation, engine testing, and rocket launches.
  • Develop user interfaces for component testing, engine testing, launch control, and other applications.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Computer, Software, Electrical, Aerospace) or Computer Science.
  • 5+ years in areas like: designing real-time hardware control architectures, developing user interfaces for safety-critical systems, or building test/simulation environments.
  • Proficient in C/C++, Rust, or Go.
  • Experience with continuous integration and agile methodologies in high-performance settings.

Nice to haves:

  • Microservices architecture experience for high-performance, distributed systems.
  • Managing high-volume, low-latency data flows.
  • Knowledge of synchronization, memory management, and performance optimization.
  • Developing safety-critical software with hardware interfaces.
  • Debugging and deploying complex, multi-platform software products.

Note: Candidates must clear a US government background check to work on-site at Stennis, Mississippi.

Relativity Space offers competitive salary and benefits, including equity, PTO, parental leave, learning stipends, and more. The hiring range is $165,000—$211,000 USD.
