This job is an integral member of an agile software engineering team responsible for building scalable software applications across all digital channels to serve our customers. The incumbent will take an enterprise-wide, architectural view of solutions and the technical execution of products using the best-suited technical stack. The team will be involved in every stage of the software development process, from idea generation and business analysis to technical design and software development, utilizing the latest technologies and design patterns.

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications and programs. Write code adhering to standards and perform code reviews.
• Generate ideas, explore, and implement technical solutions to achieve product features, while monitoring technical processes to ensure functionality, scalability, and performance.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies, assist in sprint planning, and complete sprints, communicating issues to the Scrum Master.
• Create story details (DoD, Acceptance Criteria, estimation), and manage tasks in project management tools like RTC or Jira.
• Monitor work progress against schedule, provide updates, and report issues to lead developers.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required; Master's preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in algorithm design, data structures, and building scalable, highly available systems.
• At least 5 years experience with modern programming languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and technologies such as React, Angular, NodeJS, NoSQL, cloud platforms.
• Experience with web services (REST, JSON), system architecture, and exploring technical trade-offs.

Skills

• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, innovative environments with agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding of software engineering practices, large-scale application design, and user experience improvement.
• Mentoring skills and ownership mindset.

Position is office-based with travel requirements up to 25%. Physical demands include lifting up to 10 pounds regularly.
