THE OPPORTUNITYThis Senior Software Engineer, Data Visualization position can be remote within the U.S.
Role OverviewThe Senior Software Engineer, Data Visualization, will join a platform team developing visualizations for bio-wearable sensor data and calculation libraries supporting a modern React, React Native, and Golang-based stack. The goal is to improve health outcomes for people with diabetes across over 50 countries. The core platform interacts with bio-wearable sensors within a large-scale distributed system processing over 500 million events daily.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement scalable data visualizations using Typescript, D3, and React for millions of users.
- Develop maintainable, unit-testable code ensuring high performance and quality.
- Support best practices in software development and architecture across multiple projects.
- Contribute to team strategy, architecture, and operational decisions.
- Identify and resolve system design and technology issues.
- Collaborate on API design and data flow with internal and external teams.
- Create and maintain design documentation.
- Assist in code reviews and peer mentoring.
- Host knowledge-sharing sessions and stay current with emerging trends to foster innovation.
Qualifications- Proven experience developing complex Typescript or JavaScript libraries and applications.
- Strong knowledge of React and/or React Native.
- Experience with D3 or similar visualization libraries.
- Comfort with SVG graphics.
- Understanding of cross-platform mobile app architecture, API design, performance, and scalability.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of professional software development experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with event-driven architecture.
- Golang experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience supporting multiple development teams.
- Ability to work asynchronously in a distributed team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new programming languages.
- Experience working in agile environments.
