Ref #: 10043651

Description & Requirements

The Team:

The API Platform group empowers Bloomberg developers to build and manage well-governed APIs. Our platform supports API products delivering financial data globally. Engineers own the full developer experience for internal teams and external clients, building and maintaining an API gateway and middleware for OpenAPI and GraphQL APIs. As a key part of Bloomberg's connectivity infrastructure, we focus on a world-class API lifecycle experience.

We use a mix of open-source, third-party, and in-house technologies, balancing innovation with risk management. Our work spans User Experience, Distributed Systems, and Service-Oriented Architectures.

The Role:

You will help develop an API Portal that manages the API lifecycle at Bloomberg — from planning to retirement — collaborating across engineering, product, and governance teams. You'll build user experiences, tooling, and workflows to scale API product management across Bloomberg.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain critical features and services of our product.
  • Develop user-facing features and automate the API lifecycle across back-end and front-end systems.
  • Build efficient, reusable UI components.
  • Work collaboratively within an Agile team and across departments.
  • Present product features and best practices to broader audiences.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field of study, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
  • Experience using PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with OpenAPI and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with implementing and managing GitOps-driven CI/CD pipelines.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $240,000 USD annually + benefits + bonus.

The referenced salary range is based on the company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.

We offer one of the most comprehensive and generous benefits plans, including merit increases, incentive compensation, paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability benefits, 401(k) with match, life insurance, and various wellness programs. Benefits are not provided to contingent workers, contractors, or interns.
