As part of the Cengage Global Marketing Services team, the Web Services unit offers expertise in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to enhance the online presence of our Marketing websites and drive organic growth. We are looking for a highly skilled Senior SEO Manager to spearhead our SEO strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to boost organic search rankings and traffic for Marketing websites.
• Collaborate with go-to-market partners to ensure SEO strategies align with business objectives.
• Act as the primary liaison with SEO consultants and services to refine and enhance SEO plans.
• Develop a cohesive SEO strategy plan for all Cengage Group Marketing websites and regions.
• Coordinate with social and paid media teams for aligned marketing efforts.
• Work with web production teams to implement technical and content SEO strategies effectively.
• Guide content teams in targeted keyword strategies, creating keyword playbooks and providing training.
• Identify and resolve technical SEO issues to optimize website performance.
• Monitor and report SEO metrics such as traffic, rankings, and conversion rates, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Regularly meet with stakeholders to provide insights and actionable recommendations regarding their SEO campaigns.
• Stay updated on SEO trends and algorithm changes to maintain a competitive edge.
• Supervise the work of the SEO Specialist.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Decision Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an SEO lead in a dynamic environment.
• Extensive knowledge and proficiency with standard SEO tools such as BrightEdge, Moz, Google Search Console, and GA4.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Ability to analyze large data sets and leverage insights to inform SEO strategy.
• Expertise in data interpretation and reporting, with the ability to present actionable recommendations.
• Familiarity with paid and social media marketing and their impact on SEO.
• Experience collaborating with external experts and vendors.
• Proven track record of working with cross-functional teams in a large organization.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex SEO concepts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant SEO certifications from platforms like Google or BrightEdge.
• Knowledge of Google Ads.
• Agency experience.

Compensation

At Cengage Group, we offer a comprehensive and rewarding Total Rewards package designed to support our employees. The full base pay range for this position is $67,000.00 - $84,000.00 USD. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
