Senior Security Infrastructure Engineer for a leading Quant Firm

Location: Hybrid working in New York

Are you an experienced security-focused systems engineer looking to work on complex, large-scale infrastructure? A leading technology-driven firm is seeking a Senior Security Infrastructure Engineer to help design and enhance its global security framework. This role offers the opportunity to work in a high-impact, collaborative environment at the intersection of security, networking, and large-scale computing.

What you'll be doing:

As part of the Platform Engineering team, you'll be responsible for securing and optimizing the firm's global infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Security & Authentication Systems – Design and implement secure authentication and security services, including Kerberos, X.509 PKI, and OAuth/OpenID Connect.
  • Infrastructure Security & Integration – Ensure the seamless integration and support of new Linux OS distributions within a complex infrastructure environment.
  • Security Framework Development – Continuously enhance security policies and controls across datacenters, cloud environments, and global offices.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting – Diagnose and resolve security and infrastructure issues using host- and network-level diagnostic/tracing tools.
  • Who you are:
  • Highly Experienced & Technical – 15+ years of security-focused systems engineering experience. A degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Linux Security Expert – Deep knowledge of Linux operating systems and configuration management tools.
  • Authentication & Security Specialist – Proven experience designing secure, scalable authentication systems.
  • Programming Proficiency – Strong Python development skills, with experience in Rust, Java, C, Go, or C# being a plus.
  • Networking & Infrastructure Knowledge – Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, network protocols, databases, and large-scale storage.
  • Strong Communicator & Collaborator – Comfortable working across global teams and departments to drive security best practices.
