Join our dynamic GenAI Security team at Amazon, where we are dedicated to pioneering security practices that protect our Generative AI (GenAI) products and experiences. We are on the lookout for a skilled Senior Security Engineer who is passionate about security and innovation.
As a Senior Security Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Defining security standards and providing expert guidance to builder teams in developing and deploying secure GenAI models and applications.
- Collaborating with various security teams to adapt and enhance security mechanisms that support the scalable innovation of GenAI across Amazon.
- Partnering with software engineers and applied scientists to create automated tooling and paved path solutions, smoothing the software development journey for builder teams.
- Conducting research on new security threats targeting GenAI systems, and developing effective defense mechanisms to continually enhance our security protocols.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, information security, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering.
- Experience with Large Language Model (LLM) security, including attack techniques and mitigation methods.
- 3+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, C++, or similar languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multimodal GenAI systems and associated attack techniques and mitigation strategies.
- Ability to translate business needs into comprehensive technical requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Genuine interest in researching and developing impactful technologies for customers.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets, with a base pay range for this position starting at $143,300/year to $247,600/year, depending on geographic location. The total compensation package may also include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
