Senior Security Armed Officer - Sentara Healthcare : Job Details

This position is the lead trainer in the division's security department, responsible for ensuring safety at Sentara Hospitals and Emergency Departments. The Armed Security Officer maintains a secure environment and may only use a weapon in extreme situations after all non-violent options are exhausted. The Senior Security Officer supports team members, oversees training and onboarding, serves as a technical expert, and advises leadership on operational improvements and quality initiatives. Education. High School Degree (Required)Certification/ Licensure. Armed License (Required)Experience. The Senior Armed Security Officer actively monitors Concealed Weapons Detection System(s) at division entrances. In the event a weapon is found, the armed officer will inform the visitor/patient that the weapon is not allowed in the hospital. Officers may secure the weapon for the duration of the persons visit for safekeeping.
