Senior Research Support Specialist - Stony Brook University : Job Details

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Science or related field. Two (2) years full time Research experience within a research laboratory environment. Data management experience. Standard lab experience including but not limited to PCR, bacterial gene transformation and gel electrophoresis, etc. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biochemistry. Relevant work experience and knowledge of molecular and cell biology. Brief Description of Duties:The successful Incumbent will carry out assignments with a professional competence in research activities under the general director of the Assistant Research Professor in the Lipid Cancer Lab utilizing skills including PCR, bacterial gene transformation, gel electrophoresis, gel purification and extraction, cell transfection, western blotting, immune-blotting, maxi-mini preps and purification of enzymes and lipids.
