Position for Particle Engineering & Process Development

Title: Senior Research Scientist/Engineer

General Description:

Porton USA is seeking experienced and self-driven research scientists/engineers to join the team of Global Chemical Engineering and Technologies (GCET), and to work on particle engineering and process development. The position is ideal for an individual with strong interests in solving challenging real-world problems through hands-on R&D works, in a multidisciplinary and dynamic team environment.

Key Responsibilities (general, not limited to):

• Lead project execution including experimentation, data analysis, documentation, and reporting, in phase-appropriate particle engineering and process development for API or API intermediate isolation to meet critical quality attributes of product and requirements of formulation. The processes include but not limited to crystallization.
• Integrate process data (off-line/in-situ, such as from process automation, PAT, solid state characterization, HPLC, GC, NMR, etc.) with equipment train design; apply process simulation tools and verify models using experimental design, data collection, and provide basis for process scale up; correlate fundamentals of powder and particle properties with crystallization/precipitation/filtration/drying process and equipment-oriented operations.
• Understand the requirements of CMC development programs, elements of QbD, and communicate proactively both internally and externally to maximize efficiency and success of each project.
• Take leadership in a teamworking environment, technically and/or managerially.

Qualifications & Skills:

• M.S. or Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or related scientific/technical disciplines
• 5+ years of relevant experience, with in depth understanding of fundamental principles related to the problems solved
• Experience in process scale-up, tech-transfer, plant or manufacturing operations are highly desirable
• Passionate in API particle engineering and process development R&D, and a team player with good communication, organization, and planning skills
