Overview

Senior Release Train Manager - IT Infrastructure role at Zelis. Zelis is modernizing the healthcare financial experience across payers, providers, and healthcare consumers. The Senior Release Train Manager (RTM) is a servant leader and coach responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of value in an Agile Release Train (ART) or Value Stream in a Lean-Agile enterprise. This resource facilitates clear communication to management and to the team by helping educate the team in following Agile processes. To be considered for this position, you must have at least 5 years of experience leading IT Infrastructure teams in an Agile environment and experience as a people leader in an IT Infrastructure organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Scrum Masters & RTEs to support the IT Infrastructure ART and the Enterprise Applications ART.
  • Lead ART PI Planning, program execution, scrum, and ART synch events.
  • Coach Scrum Teams in relentless improvement.
  • Create transparency using metrics to drive positive change.
  • Facilitate resolution of dependencies, impediments, and risks amongst the scrum teams.
  • Build high-performing teams with a focus on ever-improving team dynamics and performance.
  • Enable organizational effectiveness by working with other stakeholders to improve the overall development Value Stream.
  • Exhibit Lean-Agile leadership and Mindset; promote SAFe Core Values, SAFe Principles, and SAFe practices.
  • Facilitate progress toward team goals; assist the product owner(s) in maintaining and prioritizing the product backlog; help teams focus on daily and PI objectives.
  • Lead team efforts in relentless improvement; conduct team retrospectives and help teams become better problem-solvers.
  • Eliminate impediments beyond the team's authority by coordinating with other teams when necessary.
  • Build and maintain high-performing teams; manage interpersonal conflicts and growth opportunities; escalate people issues when required.
  • Coordinate inter-team cooperation and represent the team in Scrum of Scrums (SoS) meetings to improve program effectiveness.
  • Support estimating; guide the team in establishing normalized estimates for Features and Capabilities.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Senior Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer.
  • Minimum 5+ years supporting IT Infrastructure teams and projects (e.g., cloud engineering, data center operations, database engineering, network engineering, ITSecOps, desktop engineering, EUC, SRE).
  • 5+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Experience with Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, DevOps).
  • Thorough knowledge of the Scrum framework and Agile values; SAFe experience preferred.
  • Experience delivering medium/large projects with minimal direction.
  • SAFe RTE and CSM certifications strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with Jira and/or Jira Align strongly preferred.

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote-friendly culture; employee work locations are determined by position needs and leadership team decisions. In-office work varies by work and team objectives in accordance with company policies.

Salary and Benefits

Base Salary Range: $139,000.00 - $186,000.00
