Senior Regulatory Science Technician - Onsite

Pay Rate Range: $28.00/hr. - $30.66/hr.

Description/Comment:

Assists in developing and validating testing methodology used to control raw materials, production intermediates and final products. Helps establish, validate and document new or existing compound identification methods. May conduct testing of analytical samples for the laboratory area, the separation and characterization of protein drug candidates, formulation development, peptide mapping and other analytical methods of development. Conducts work in compliance with cGMP, safety and regulatory requirements. May provide analysis and evaluation of material and products at all stages of development process. This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialized education, or training. The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making. The job should possess a good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts & principles upon which the job is based. The knowledge can be acquired through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines. This job typically requires a minimum of 3 or more years experience.

Additional Job Details:

The majority of this role involves the understanding and operation of FTIR spectroscopy, Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and UV-Vis spectroscopy and will also employ gravimetric analysis. Additional analytical chemistry tests may be conducted based on the needs of the business.

  • Fully onsite (Mon-Friday)
  • Degree highly preferred (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, life sciences, etc)
  • Top 3 skills:
  • a) Lab experience, preferred chemistry lab, preferred FTIR experience

    b) Good written & verbal communication

    c) Can act independently and have good time management

  • Virtual screening, then on-site with 2 or 3 individuals.
  • This is a contract only.
  • Overview of position and day to day responsibilities: The Lab Technician will be primarily responsible for the timely chemical testing, analysis, and reporting of materials and products. The technician will ensure that the lab is well stocked, clean, and compliant to lab WIs and SOPs. The majority of this role involves the understanding and operation of FTIR spectroscopy, Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and UV-Vis spectroscopy and will also employ gravimetric analysis. Additional analytical chemistry tests may be conducted based on the needs of the business.
  • The Lab technician will be responsible for the following (not an exclusive list):

    • Intake of test requests (understanding and alignment of preparation and testing requested).

    • Provide feedback on required samples, testing preparations, testing method and results.

    • Management of testing timelines, including communication of delays.

    • Preparation of samples for analysis.

    • Perform chemical analysis (FTIR, ICP-MS, XRF, UV Vis, Gravimetric analysis).

    • Cross functional partnerships with R&D, Regulatory, Biosafety, and Operations teams in relation to testing.

    • Interpreting data and reporting data.

    • Communication of any delays.

    • Maintenance of lab supplies

    • Cleaning the lab

    • Ensuring lab EH&S compliance

    • Maintain lab metrics
