Summary:
Assists in the planning, organization and directing the overall operation of the nutritional department in accordance with current Federal, State, and Catholic Health System guidelines to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis. Assists the Director of Food & Nutritional Services directing the utilization of the nutritional staff and resources for the delivery of nutritional care within the division. Oversees nutritional services of patients throughout the division in terms of assuring quality and appropriateness within the area of nutritional care. Coordinates clinical education and staff development programs for nutritional services in the LTC/Subacute division in conjunction with the Food & Nutrition Director with emphasis in assigned areas of clinical competence. Coordinates nutritional care specific meetings. Assists with the recruitment, interview, orientation, and hiring process for Registered Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians within the LTC/Subacute Division.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
Masters Degree in Dietetics from an accredited college or university
Accreditation from the American Dietetic Association with RD status. Maintenance of RD status
Licensed by the New York State Board of Education as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist
EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Ability to communicate with the geriatric population
Must be able to speak, and write the English language
