ABOUT THE POSITION

We're seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and dependability of our organization's data-centric systems and reports. In this role, you'll be a key player in validating data workflows, dashboards, and analytical tools used across our business operations. This position works closely with various departments to uphold best practices in data quality, identify potential issues early, and maintain rigorous standards for data governance and compliance.

This opportunity is available in several U.S. locations, with compensation adjusted based on market:

• Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Washington, D.C.: $133K – $186K

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and carry out test strategies for data systems, including ETL workflows and reporting tools
• Verify that data is accurate, complete, and consistent across systems and reporting platforms
• Build automated test scripts using SQL and programming/scripting languages
• Translate data requirements into test plans and quality checks in collaboration with business and technical teams
• Monitor ongoing data quality metrics and flag inconsistencies or issues proactively
• Support compliance efforts by ensuring data-related policies are followed
• Conduct regression testing of reports, dashboards, and data models after system changes
• Optimize validation processes and queries for efficiency and scale
• Assist in end-user testing and training for BI and analytics tools
• Maintain documentation of QA methods, results, and best practices

YOUR BACKGROUND

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or a similar field—or equivalent experience
• At least 7 years of professional experience in QA roles focused on data and analytics
• Proven expertise in validating ETL flows and data warehouse architecture
• High-level proficiency in SQL and hands-on work with platforms like Snowflake, SQL Server, or Redshift
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Familiar with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
• Experience in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt
• Knowledge of testing frameworks for data validation (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests) is a plus
• Familiarity with ERP or domain-specific data systems is highly beneficial
