Job Summary:Heitmeyer is seeking a senior-level testing leader with enterprise experience to support its banking client's major debit card processing modernization effort. The current team lacks QA and testing leadership expertise needed to move this initiative forward, and this role will be critical in building the test strategy from the ground up and managing the testing process through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and roll out a comprehensive test strategy for the initiative
- Create and manage test plans, testing phases (including UAT), and project test reports
- Use Jira to track testing activities and progress
- Oversee defect management, including validation of production issues and regression testing
- Ensure traceability by maintaining a requirements traceability matrix
- Mentor testers individually and help improve overall testing processes
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and policies
Required Skills:
- Experience leading enterprise-level testing efforts and building test strategies from scratch
- Top preference: Fiserv debit card processing platform conversion
- Second preference: Any debit card processing platform conversion
- Third preference: Enterprise banking platform conversion combined with debit card processing experience
- Willingness to be hands-on with testing about 20–30% of the time
- Strong background in test planning, defect management, and traceabilit
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and take full ownership of the testing function
- Solid understanding of technical integrations and APIs, with the ability to speak confidently about them
Nice to have:
- Experience with test automation tools or frameworks, especially helpful for future phases of the project
- Mainframe and Spring Boot experience preferred
