The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with expertise in Leaking Underground Storage Tanks to join our clients Environmental team in Michigan. This role offers the chance to lead complex environmental projects, collaborate with clients, and ensure compliance with Michigan's environmental regulations. With a focus on site assessments, remediation, and state contracts, you'll play a critical role in driving successful outcomes for our projects.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Managing and coordinating leaking underground storage tank projects, including site assessment, remediation, and state contracts.
  • Developing and executing project plans while ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical work plans and comprehensive project reports in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive client relationships through effective communication and timely deliverables.
  • Overseeing subcontractors and ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
  • Leading field activities such as soil, water, and vapor sampling, as well as overseeing drilling and excavation tasks.
  • Developing budgets and cost estimates while monitoring expenditures to ensure financial success.
  • Analyzing collected data to guide decision-making and project direction.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • A bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in leaking underground storage tank projects and site assessments.
  • Knowledge of Michigan's environmental regulations (Part 213/201/211/215) OR another states regulations of the same. Willing to train.
  • Proven experience in report writing, including Initial Assessment Reports, Final Assessment Reports, and Closure Reports.
  • Familiarity with institutional controls such as restrictive covenants, MDOT ELAs, and PHICs.
  • Strong field experience, including subcontractor oversight, soil and groundwater sampling, and related activities.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • A valid driver's license and flexibility to travel as needed.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER 29 CFR 1910.120 certification with annual refresher training.
  • Experience with state contracts and bid specifications (preferred)
