Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead all phases of project execution from preconstruction through closeout. Responsibilities include overseeing budgets, schedules, purchasing, compliance, safety, quality control, documentation, and team coordination. This role serves as the primary liaison between ownership, internal teams, and external partners to ensure project goals are met. The Senior Project Manager will also supervise direct reports and provide support for contract administration, reporting, and project turnover.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and supervise Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff
- Monitor team performance and provide guidance on day-to-day operations
- Address team concerns and performance-related issues as needed
Project Oversight
- Manage all phases of construction from start-up to closeout, including punch list and warranty
- Maintain organized project documentation (digital and physical) per internal standards
- Develop and manage project schedules, including two-week lookaheads
- Oversee permitting process in coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Track and report project financials including change orders and potential cost impacts
- Ensure project delivery aligns with plans, specs, and quality standards
Coordination & Compliance
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely and compliant execution
- Monitor safety procedures, quality assurance, and code compliance throughout project lifecycle
- Lead regular meetings with project teams, ownership, and applicable agencies
- Manage inspection readiness, municipal coordination, and progress reporting
Administrative Duties
- Approve subcontractor/vendor requisitions and track progress payments
- Maintain logs and reports related to RFIs, submittals, change orders, inspections, daily activities, and more
- Support project closeout efforts including documentation, punch list completion, and warranty tracking
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant construction management experience, preferably in ground-up or major renovation work
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proficient in construction scheduling and document control systems
