Position Summary:
- The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with the highest safety and quality standards. The Senior Project Manager leads project teams, manages client and subcontractor relationships, and provides technical expertise in PEMB systems and construction practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of PEMB construction projects, from preconstruction and procurement through final turnover.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Coordinate with PEMB manufacturers for design approvals, delivery timelines, and scope clarifications.
- Lead and mentor internal project teams, including superintendents, project engineers, and support staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Ensure adherence to contractual requirements, safety regulations, and quality control programs.
- Review and approve subcontractor scopes, contracts, and pay applications.
- Perform risk assessments and proactively resolve construction issues and delays.
- Drive value engineering efforts and implement cost-control strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project closeout, including punch list completion, owner training, and turnover documentation.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 7–10 years of construction project management experience, including at least 5 years managing PEMB projects.
- Proven track record delivering complex PEMB projects on time and within budget.
Skills & Competencies:
- Expert knowledge of PEMB systems, components, erection sequencing, and trade coordination.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
- Proficient with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Solid understanding of construction contracts (lump sum, GMP, cost-plus).
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Physical & Environmental Demands:
- Primarily office-based with periodic jobsite visits.
- Ability to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders and walking on uneven terrain.
- Occasional travel to project locations may be required.
