Are you a Project Manager who's delivered complex heavy civil infrastructure projects looking to become a figurehead in an expanding medium-sized General Contractor?

Are you looking for an opportunity that will allow you to work with executive leadership to make key critical decisions that will determine the success of not only your projects, but also the wider business?

The Opportunity

This is a high-responsibility role where you will have the autonomy to run your projects as you see fit. You'll manage your project teams, financials, and client relationships across a variety of heavy civil construction projects. You'll also be expected to support and mentor junior staff, advise on estimating when needed, and act as a trusted second-in-command to the company owners.

For the right person, this is a direct path to strategic leadership.

The Role Breakdown

  • Lead multiple major infrastructure projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations, project schedules (CPM), cost controls, and resource allocation.
  • Report directly to ownership, working with Superintendents, Engineers, and clients to ensure delivery excellence.
  • Interface with DOT, City/State, and local municipalities as the primary point of contact and face of the project.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with project stakeholders and partners.
  • Serve as a mentor to Project Engineers and Junior PMs.
  • Support the Estimating Department on pursuits, Alternative Delivery project interviews and negotiations, and constructability input as needed.

Required Skills, Experience, and Background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is desirable but not essential
  • Heavy civil construction project management experience such as structures, bridges, highways/roadways, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience operating as a lead PM on large-scale public works (Federal, State, County, Municipal clients).
  • Strong command of project administration, contract management budgeting, scheduling, plan reading, and field execution.
  • Experienced with software such as Primavera P6, HCSS, Spectrum/Viewpoint desirable but not essential.
  • Must be local to or willing to relocate to the Denver Metro area and work from the Thornton office.
  • A big-picture mindset with the ability to make technical and commercial decisions under pressure.
