Senior Project Manager – Heavy Manufacturing / Heat Exchangers

Industry: Industrial Manufacturing / Heat Transfer Equipment

Type: Full-time | Permanent

Overview:

Our client, a rapidly growing private organization within the heavy manufacturing sector, is significantly outperforming 2025 revenue projections—nearly a billion dollars ahead of target—thanks to a strong uptick in sales and strategic expansion. In support of this momentum, we are seeking a Senior Project Manager with a proven background in direct heat exchanger or large-scale steel fabrication projects. This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven, high-potential professional to join a high-performance team focused on large capital projects.

Position Summary:

As a key leader within the Project Management Office (PMO), the Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving full-cycle project execution, from planning through completion. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong emotional intelligence, proactive risk management skills, and the ability to effectively align internal resources, external vendors, and subcontractors to meet or exceed contractual and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all commercial and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and maintain alignment with the project baseline schedule.
  • Present monthly budget forecasts and updates to executive leadership.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project-related risks.
  • Deliver regular progress updates and reporting to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication and relationship management.
  • Manage scope changes and the full change order process to secure and drive additional revenue.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (Engineering discipline strongly preferred).
  • MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dedicated, full-cycle Project Manager role in a manufacturing setting.
  • At least 5 years working within heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in MS Project or Primavera for schedule development and maintenance (3+ years).
  • Experience with thermal equipment such as feedwater heaters, condensers, fired heaters, OTSG, and waste heat boilers is highly desirable.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with Primavera scheduling tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of formal change management processes in a corporate environment.
