Mott MacDonald is expanding its established GDOT project work in Atlanta, GA. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead technical excellence in our Atlanta office. The role involves managing transportation projects, overseeing scope, schedule, and budget for GDOT, County DOTs, and municipal clients.

Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing all highway design activities in accordance with contract scope and schedule.
  • Monitoring labor budgets and project schedules.
  • Coordinating with discipline leaders and staff for effective communication.
  • Ensuring project deliverables meet schedules and budgets.
  • Supporting marketing and business development, including identifying key clients and projects.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Leading procurement activities, including scope and fee negotiations.
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure detailed design document delivery.
  • Mentoring the next generation of project managers.
  • Managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Candidate Specifications:
  • B.S. in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10+ years in transportation or civil engineering, with roadway/highway experience.
  • Proven experience managing transportation projects with GDOT, County, and Municipal agencies in Georgia.
  • Georgia PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • GSWCC Level II Designer Certification.
  • GDOT PDP Certification or ability to acquire it.
  • Extensive knowledge of GDOT standards, policies, and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads is a plus.
  • Strong communication and team-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, visiting client offices and project sites.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
