We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Operations Team working on Data Center, Vehicle Manufacturing, or General Build Construction projects.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and seamless execution of construction projects. Your responsibilities include assisting the Management Teams with all technical aspects of project management, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. Technical support involves participation in construction planning and design, interpreting designs, applying construction methods, resolving and documenting design conflicts, conducting constructability reviews, and processing shop drawings. You will also develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents in the Prolog database, manage material status reports, process requests for information, and record meeting minutes.

Location

You can be located anywhere in the US, provided you are willing to travel long-term to our client projects.

Responsibilities

  • Project Execution: Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the construction schedule. Provide technical support including construction planning, design interpretation, application of construction methods, resolving design conflicts, and processing shop drawings. Develop and administer project engineering procedures and work controlling documents.
  • Budget Management: Monitor expenditure, track financial progress, and ensure costs remain within the budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.
  • Resource Management: Foster a collaborative environment, guide team members, and manage project engineering personnel, subcontractors, and on-site departments to resolve problems and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  • Risk Management: Represent the company in meetings with A/E, clients, and project management teams.
  • Technical Support: Serve as the key technical person on projects, potentially managing small to medium-sized projects.
  • Qualifications

    To qualify, you must have:

    • A 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and experience.
    • At least 5 years of similar construction engineering experience.
    • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, and a thorough understanding of interdependent functional units.

    Ideally, you will also possess:

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-functional coordination.
    • The ability to implement innovative management strategies to improve project and employee performance.

    Skills and Attributes for Success

    • Strong technical knowledge of construction and engineering processes, procurement, project controls, and contract management.
    • Proficiency in budget management, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
    • Experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
    • Ability to adapt in fast-paced, dynamic environments with changing requirements.
