Senior Project Engineer Concrete ConstructionWe are searching for an experienced Senior Project Engineer Concrete Construction at our Tarlton HQ facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: MAJOR GOALS AND PURPOSEThe Senior Project Engineer will perform and assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in delivering profitable, well-constructed, and safe self-performed concrete construction projects in the timeliest manner. They will also perform estimating functions and assist in the development of Project Engineers. Assigned projects will be across varying building/vertical and civil markets and, while self-performed concrete is the focus, will involve other scopes and competenciesESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES-Increase bid profitability on projects-Assume responsibility for the profitability of assigned projects.-Develop and update the costbook on assigned projects.-Monitor and advise the project manager of variances in job cost.-Track self-perform activity productivity and identify trends.-Develop support documentation and facilitate all aspects of subcontractor and owner construction meetings on assigned projects.-Develop and manage subcontracts on assigned projects.-Assist in the preparation of owner invoices.-Assume responsibility for the change proposal/change order process on assigned small projects.-Maintain and become familiar with all aspects of project specifications, plans, and documents as well as subcontractors' scope of work.-Maintain all project logs as outlined in the Project Operations Manual.-Review, submit, and follow up shop drawing and other submittals in a timely fashion to ensure conformance to the contract documents and specifications.-Coordinate and expedite material deliveries.-Coordinate equipment and formwork selections and deliveries-Monitor self-perform and subcontractor activities for compliance with company and industry safety standards and complete required safety reports-Review self-performed and subcontracted activities to ensure workmanship quality and compliance with project specifications.-Assist in coordinating construction activities.-Develop and update the project schedule.-Review, code, and approve invoices.-Obtain permits as required.-Develop pricing skills for construction activities.-Complete as-built drawings, O&M's, warranties, etc., for project closeout.-Participate in estimating activities.-Become proficient in quantity takeoffs and activity pricing-Solicit material and equipment quotations and prepare requisitions for approval.-Various other duties that may be assigned by the company.Required Qualifications:BEHAVIORAL TRAITS, ATTITUDES, AND SKILLS REQUIRED-Must have the ability to make good decisions based on good analysis of relative factors.-Must be able to communicate effectively.-Must have the ability to perform task-oriented functions.-Must be self-motivated and have the skills to motivate others.-Must exhibit strong client relation skillsWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL EFFORT- The employee will be located in a field office at a job site location- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.PREREQUISITES (i.e., Education, Experience)-Engineering or construction management/technology degree is required.-Must have a minimum of three years of constructionexperience.-Must have experience on self-performed structural concrete projects-Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.-Must be proficient with project management (Procore or similar) and scheduling (P6 or MS Project) software-Maintain current OSHA certificate.ExemptOur company provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
