Job Description:
We are GDIT. As a Senior Programmer supporting the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), you will be entrusted to build and code applications and/or models using various computer programming languages. You will be responsible for coordinating the design, development and testing of API, as well as technical support and subject matter expertise related to specified health care programming & analytic activities, projects, and deliverables.
HOW A SENIOR PROGRAMMER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Developing, building, and testing APIs
Plans, develops, tests, and documents highly complex applications programs.
Generates new code and corrects, converts, and/or modifies existing code to meet specifications.
Use GoLang, Python, and Java experience to develop, deploy, and maintain backend applications
Prepares detailed specifications from which code will be written.
Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as users manuals, product specifications, and training materials.
Frontend development using, Angular, HTML, and TypeScript
Database development using SQL (PostgreSQL)
Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel.
Performs research on emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution.
Version control using Git and GitHub
CI/CD processes using Jenkins
Cloud infrastructure with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
Agile project lifecycle approach to software development
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3+ years of development experience
Experience with or desire to learn programming languages such as GoLang, Python, TypeScript, and Java
Frontend development experience with frameworks like Angular, React, Vue, etc.
Experience in Agile development methodology
Experience with or desire to learn IaC with Terraform
Knowledge of end-to-end fully automated CI/CD pipelines, from committing code to deploying to production
Relational Database experience
Experience developing and testing APIs.
Proficiency in the use of SAS and/or Oracle PL/SQL or equivalent software tools.
Experience with Databricks, Python, Visual Basic and R coding languages.
Related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses and data analysis.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with CURL or Postman.
Experience with AWS Lambda and AWS Glue
Experience with Jenkins
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
AWS Certified Cloud Developer - Associate
Experience leading and coordinating project tasks.
Professional SAS Certification(s) preferred.
Experience with Medicaid and Medicare claims.
Programming experience with analysis in the healthcare industry.
LOCATION: Remote
CLEARANCE LEVEL: Requires the ability to pass a CMS background check and meet the residency requirement of having lived in the US for three (3) of the past five (5) years.

The likely salary range for this position is $83,429 - $95,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
