  • Actively engages hospital leaders, providers, and executive teams to develop, execute, and improve the hospital's capacity management program.
  • Must have clinical knowledge of capacity management.
Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the healthcare needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. The 102-bed community hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including the Siteman Cancer Center, the Breast Health and Women's Center, the Cardiology Center, the Neurosurgery Center, and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.

The hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center and has a Level II stroke certification. The medical office building houses offices for various specialists. Outpatient services include physical therapy, a sleep lab, and cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation.

Every decision is made in the best interest of patients and families. The Nursing Resource team coordinates patient placement and bed management in collaboration with departments, admitting, and physicians.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Oversees development and implementation of strategic plans, working closely with hospital administration and physician leadership. Manages the financial and operational performance of departments, including budget development, revenue and expense monitoring, and implementation of management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, prioritizes, and implements strategic goals in collaboration with physician leaders and hospital administration. Manages committees addressing inpatient/outpatient services, policies, procedures, supply chain, clinical outcomes, patient experience, growth, capacity planning, and financial performance.
  • Leads new initiatives and evidence-based practices. Builds alliances and communication with peer institutions. Fosters collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Implements improvement programs using data analytics and lean methodologies to impact key metrics related to people, service, growth, quality, and margins. Develops program contracts and scorecards for mission support, medical directorships, physician co-management, and performance improvement.
  • Manages staff including onboarding, training, workload management, performance evaluations, and professional development. Ensures staff actions support operational goals.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and expense budgets. Responds to business changes affecting budget goals.
  • Minimum Requirements

    Education

    • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field.

    Experience

    • Less than 2 years of experience.

    Supervisor Experience

    • Less than 2 years of supervisory experience.
