The McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research ( at New York University Silver School of Social Work is looking to hire a full-time Senior Program Coordinator to support McSilver's behavioral health training centers. McSilver has a robust training program on best practices in behavioral health service delivery programs, including the Community Technical Assistance Center of New York (CTAC) ( which provides trainings and implementation support to behavioral health agencies across New York State. The NYU McSilver Institute is committed to creating new knowledge about the root causes of poverty, developing evidence-based interventions to address its consequences, and rapidly translating research findings into action through policy and best practices.
Position Description:
The Senior Program Coordinator's main responsibilities will involve supporting McSilver's training centers in achieving contract deliverables, including managing and hosting virtual and in-person events, managing contracting with vendors and consultants, supporting the development of reports for project funders, and supporting the maintenance of McSilver's training infrastructure.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Oversee activities to coordinate, facilitate, and support the development and presentation of trainings and learning initiatives for all New York State's behavioral health providers
Manage contracting with vendors, consultants, and funders, including drafting contracts and scopes of work, tracking invoices, and supporting partners through the contracting and payment process
Support the development of reports for project funders, including organizing and analyzing user data, describing contract deliverables, and collaborating with McSilver's evaluation team
Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings and events, including scheduling, booking rooms, preparing materials, and setting up virtual meetings
Organize and manage logistics for virtual events (e.g., Zoom hosting, website updates, registration management) and in-person events (e.g., travel for guest speakers, reserving conference rooms, catering)
Support the management of technical infrastructure/systems to ensure systems are properly maintained and to help troubleshoot updates or changes
Participate in planning and problem-solving activities with program level staff and managers in the design, delivery, and implementation of statewide cross-organizational learning and training initiatives and evidence-based practice and organizational change models
Organize, prepare, schedule and attend designated internal and external meetings on an as-needed basis to strategize, troubleshoot, and provide feedback
Coordinate and participate in regular status meetings and problem-solving activities with members of various project workgroups regarding implementation of initiatives, and utilize effective communication skills to facilitate and maintain progress towards project goals and deliverables
Effectively communicate relevant project information, keep the project team well informed of changes, and keep track of lessons learned and share those lessons with project team members
Remain informed and up-to-date on the forefront of emerging industry practices and seek and participate in development opportunities above and beyond training required by McSilver
Manage day-to-day “client” (as defined by McSilver) interaction for programming and learning communities
Responsible for the oversight and implementation of webinars, communication tools (emails and bulletins), and website updates, including pulling together reports and data entry
General admin support including but not limited to: crafting and editing of presentations, oversight of listservs/email lists, providing customer/tech support to training participants, maintaining calendars and meeting summaries
Travel is required when appropriate
Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge of records systems a plus
Experience with Zoom a plus
Experience with contract management and/or invoicing a plus
Minimum Requirements:
BA and demonstrated minimum of 3 years experience in one or more of these areas - social work, psychology, sociology, public health, communications, marketing, public or media relations, or related field
Highly organized, attention to detail, results oriented
Exceptional verbal, written, & presentation skills
Strong editing skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to creatively find solutions to challenges
Ability to anticipate, manage and resolve conflicts
Team player with leadership skills, abilities and desire to interact with people at all levels
Demonstrated dedication to work effectively with underserved, at-risk, and vulnerable populations
Ability to work effectively with community partners
Must be able to travel independently between multiple work sites and events
Experience coordinating staff, meetings, events and logistics

This position is full-time and includes a generous benefits package ( . In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000-70,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Please note:
NYU McSilver is currently operating on a hybrid schedule of 3-days a week in-person.
This is a grant funded position with the opportunity for ongoing renewal reviewed on an annual basis.
This position is classified under the professional research staff category at NYU and does not qualify for visa sponsorship including STEM OPT extension.
