Sr. Process Engineering Manager - Life Science & Technology

Our client is looking for an experienced Process Engineering Department Manager to support Engineering and EPC Life Sciences projects in its Greenville, SC or Raleigh, NC office. The Department Manager will support development of staff and assign staff to multiple projects in the following sectors; life sciences (pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices), general manufacturing, and laboratories.

Major responsibilities for the Department Manager will include:

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of life sciences markets and processes (fermentation, cell / gene therapy, API, blood products, purification, fill / finish, medical devices, etc)
  • Strong understanding and P&IDs, URSs, mass balance, PHA, equipment layouts, and process calculations
  • Knowledge of cGMP requirements for life sciences projects
  • Excellent communication and coordination with project management, office management and other discipline managers
  • Ability to support business development with proposals and client presentations
  • Act as the senior process expert for client interface
  • Provide Quality review of process deliverables developed by the process team
  • Participates in project planning, budgeting and establishing critical project objectives
  • Own the development of direct reports including targeting work for individual team members to expand their capabilities
  • Stay current in latest life sciences industry trends and encourage knowledge sharing through technical presentation or reports
  • Support active recruiting of new process engineers
  • Contribute to business strategy meetings
  • Servant leader willing to lend a hand/support everyone in their sphere of influence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or similar experience

Professional Engineering Registration

Minimum 10 years of professional experience. 15 years of related experience preferred

Experience working on EPC life science projects

Experience with validation is a plus.

Flexibility to travel 25% of the time

Strong communication abilities exhibited by developed client relationships. Ability to quickly build long-term connections with internal and external clients

Must carry strong interpersonal and communication skills and display a positive can-do attitude both internally and externally
