SALARY: The salary range for this position is $64,317.50 to $108,810.90 for Schedule A, and $64,317.50 to $101,520.57 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to October 31, 2015, are considered Schedule A. The Ocean Vicinage is seeking a highly motivated and engaging individual to work under the direction of the Court Executive 2B (Probation Division Manager) and/or Court Executive 1b (Assistant Probation Division Manager) as the Senior Probation Officer for (Adult) Domestic Violence Supervision. This position will be a subject-matter expert in domestic violence abuse, which includes knowledge of additional risk factors and additional treatment needs. Will monitor and enforce conditions of court orders; evaluate clients with complex or chronic problems; discuss specialized treatment or supervision with clients; identify barriers to success and develop strategies for resolution; inform clients about available services and coordinate same; monitor case flow and treatment plans and collaborate with system partners; consult with judges regarding case status and case issues; analyze case histories and maintain data so that statistics may be generated as needed; and attend specialized training specific to the domestic violence caseload. REMOTE WORK: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. NOTE: The probation division requires the selected individual work an alternate hours work schedule, which includes nights and Saturdays.Example of Duties
- Performs case management for a specialized caseload of cases with domestic violence charges.
- Conducts Risk/Needs Assessments, creates client plans for success, utilizes appropriate incentives/interventions/sanctions, conducts home/field visits, utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques with clients, meets with clients in person and remotely, files violations of probation.
- Conducts drug screenings on cases as appropriate and makes necessary referrals to outside agencies.
- Appears in court on both status conferences and violations of probation. Reviews caseload regularly, ensuring the clients are following court-stipulated guidelines, such as performance of community service, the payment of court ordered fines and agency reports.
- Make entries in CAPS/PCM, and utilizes eCourts.
- Utilizes reports for supervision of cases, ensuring standards are being met and cases are processed timely.
- Attends all case related trainings.
- Monitors transmittals and correspondence from agencies and other vicinages with regard to supervision of cases.
- Provide customer service to both internal and external customers by handling inquiries received in person and via phone/email.

Applicants for advancement to the Senior Probation Officer title are not required to take a New Jersey Civil Service Commission promotional examination. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any area, which includes or is supplemented by 24 credit hours in the behavioral or social sciences and two years of professional experience in casework involving gathering and analyzing socioeconomic information; determining client treatment needs; providing access to social services, therapeutic interventions, rehabilitative assistance, or professional counseling; and/or preparing reports of findings and recommendations. Substitution: A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the behavioral or social sciences may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Education Note: Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
