SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Senior Principal Windows System Administrator to join our team in Dayton, OH, or Huntsville, AL. Successful applicants will bring deep experience with Active Directory design, configuration, & maintenance, Windows Server and desktop operating system support, familiarity with hardware procurement, a readiness to work hands-on keyboard to solve challenging problems, a strong collaborative spirit, experience successfully mentoring junior team members, superior problem solving skills, a passion for security and data protection, and a clear focus on supporting customer needs.
Responsibilities
Provide Windows systems administration in multiple heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
Windows administration includes designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows-based IT infrastructure, ensuring system security, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with other teams
Install, configure, and manage Windows operating systems, applications, and related software
Implement and maintain Group Policy settings and other configuration tools
Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to protect Windows systems and data
Monitor system performance and identify areas for optimization
Implement performance tuning and optimization techniques to ensure optimal system performance
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Windows systems and applications
Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve underlying problems.
Develop and document technical configurations, processes and procedures
Works under minimal direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions
This individual is responsible for architecting and administering Windows Server and Desktop Environments, Active Directory, Exchange, and SharePoint

Requirements
10+ years professional experience performing duties of a Windows system administrator
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows server environments including advanced experience managing and troubleshooting Active Directory
Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Ability to get and maintain a security clearance
Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification)
Demonstrated attention to detail
Good verbal and written communication skills
Candidates meeting the following criteria will be preferred:
An active and transferable TS/SCI clearance w/CI Poly
Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems
Experience configuring and supporting Dell Powerscale, Powerstore and/or Unity storage appliances
Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification
Creation and deployment of Windows system images in an enterprise environment
Experience with U.S. government certification & accreditation processes

The pay range for this position is $108,000- $155,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
