This role is based in Pharma Technical Operations Technology (PTT), an organization dedicated to keeping Pharma Technical Operations at the forefront of technological advancements across current and future facilities. PTT, comprising global MSAT and Engineering teams, is responsible for realizing new assets for the PT manufacturing network, including drug substance, drug product, and device industrialization facilities. This position offers an opportunity to build manufacturing facilities that deliver life-saving medicines to patients worldwide.

As a Project Manager within the Capital Delivery Group, you will lead large and complex facility and equipment improvement projects across our US manufacturing network and potentially at international sites.

• Build and lead project teams, motivating members through strong communication and leadership skills, with clear decision-making to ensure project continuity.

• Foster collaboration by partnering with User Team Leads and other key stakeholders.

• Prioritize safety during design and construction phases, engaging the Safety, Health, and Environment team throughout the project lifecycle.

• Maintain fiscal control of projects by:

  • Developing funding strategies aligned with project execution plans.

  • Managing project scope and schedule within the approved business case.

  • Focusing the team on the execution plan.

• Engage with senior sponsors, site leadership, and key stakeholders on business case development, funding strategies, and resolving impediments.

• From concept through design, construction, commissioning, and qualification, ensure project delivery meets the intended business outcomes.

• B.S. in engineering, architecture, or construction with at least 10 years of successful project management experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry, including 5 years managing large, complex projects, preferably in an international environment.

• Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills in capital project delivery.

• Expertise in applying or developing advanced project management tools and methodologies.

• Broad understanding of engineering principles, with in-depth knowledge of one engineering discipline related to Roche's manufacturing core business.

Preferred qualifications include:

• MS in Engineering, MBA, or PE/equivalent.

• Knowledge of biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical processes, facility design, and cGMP requirements.

• Understanding of risk-based qualification approaches.

• Lean Construction knowledge and experience.

Note: Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The salary range for California is $136,200 to $253,000 annually, with actual pay determined by experience, qualifications, location, and other factors. A discretionary bonus may be offered, and benefits are detailed at the provided link.
