Job Description

AbbVie's in-house Advertising Agency, A3 is seeking an experienced and operationally-strategic Senior Portfolio Project Manager to lead overall project implementation and optimize development with stakeholders in multiple functional areas both inside and outside of the group. Position reports to a Group Account Manager.

The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects (high volume), ensuring they are delivered on time (rapid pace), within scope, and on budget, while driving innovation and strategic growth. Success in this role requires a change agent who is passionate, with high energy, and is results-oriented with a creative and analytical mind. Expert knowledge developing a diverse set of advertising tactics (print, digital) preferred. Ability to quickly adapt to and use advanced project management tools and processes is desirable. Individuals should have the ability to manage critical situations and high communication skills (written & verbal).

Position will train new project managers and account managers on the Project Management process and systems (Kantata, Workfront) within A3 to develop consistency across the Neuroscience, Oncology and AbbVie Patient Services Specialty Teams, with an eye toward overall A3 processes and resources allocation for efficiency across the full A3 team.

This is a hybrid position requiring the ability to commute to our Mettawa, IL office location at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to understand pharmaceutical marketing material development, the pharmaceutical review process (MRL) – its steps and length – and the risk posture
  • Possess the ability to work in a high-volume, rapidly paced environment
  • Develop, implement and manage agency workflow processes
  • Partner with Account and Project Managers to proactively move projects within the agency
  • Good judgement to understanding the risk posture when advocating for project agility
  • Run daily hot sheets including setting deliverables for the day and documenting next steps
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure client requests and ideals are being met
  • Understand company guidelines including corporate branding, promotional material development, Veeva PromoMats review, and corporate compliance
  • Participate in cross-functional negotiations to ensure all teams are aligned on project resources and timelines
  • Take responsibility and create awareness for all project risks; actively collaborate with stakeholders to establish appropriate solutions
  • Demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multi-task to enhance productivity and manage workload
  • Manage the onboarding, and on-going training for team agency project managers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of advertising Project Manager experience required
  • 5+ years of pharmaceutical marketing experience within an advertising agency highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, presentation, written
  • High energy, positive, organized individual who is comfortable in a high-visibility role
  • Great collaborator with the ability to focus on both the big picture and small details
