Mesa is seeking an experienced (8+ year) BSEE or BSME for a position in Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate shall have experience in Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry. A BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited university is required. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for the physical design of Power Substations ranging from 12.5kV to 500kV. As a Senior Engineer, this individual will be skilled in various aspects of Physical Substation design and be able to evaluate project packages for standards compliance and constructability. This role includes mentoring junior engineers and designers, as well as coordinating with other disciplines (P&C, Civil/Structural, etc.). Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required. Proficiency in verbal and written communication is essential. A Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain one is a plus.

Education/Experience:

• A BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited university (required)
• 8+ years of experience in the power utility industry

Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate Physical Substation design
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Use AutoCAD/MicroStation to create deliverables
• Interact with clients to meet schedule and budget requirements
• Provide project scoping support
• Attend site visits in the greater Carolinas region
• Mentor junior engineers and designers
• Review work of team members
• Ensure safety in all work activities
