Senior PHP Backend Developer - Baldwin : Job Details

You wont be handed polished specs and locked-down roadmaps. Instead, youll be working with real people, real complexity, and a product thats in production, evolving, and growing. Youll collaborate closely with fellow backend developers, frontend developers, QA, project managers, product owners, and support teams not just to build features, but to shape how they work and why they matter.

The Product Youll be Building

Lochting is a SaaS platform (owned by Meditech-Pharma) helping pharmacists across Belgium, France, Luxembourg, UK, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Australia manage their digital and physical sales channels.

Think:

• Self Checkout devices, Vending machines, Locker devices, webshops and Digital Signage
• Managing product selections, prices, promotions, appointments, integrations
• Connecting to robotic dispensers, ERPs, payment & shipping providers, and more

Lochting is a living product. In production. Generating revenue. Actively developed. And youll play a central role in its future.

What Youll Do

• Build APIs, business logic, and integrations using PHP and Symfony
• Translate high-level specs or even one-liners into actual working features
• Collaborate with other backend and frontend devs, QA, PMs, and customer success
• Own what you ship from design to implementation, deployment, support, and iteration
• Keep performance, security, maintainability, and longevity front of mind
• Help evolve our architecture and processes as the product scales
• Occasionally whiteboard, diagram, or hop into a call to figure something out
• Document what matters and write tests that help you sleep at night

What You Bring Must-Have:

• 5+ years of experience as a backend developer, ideally in a product-focused environment
• Strong command of PHP, Symfony and MySQL
• Experience with building, consuming, and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with Docker , Linux , and a CLI workflow
• Git, CI/CD, and clean code habits
• Comfortable with testing (unit, integration, functional)
• Professional working proficiency in English
• A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with complex integrations: ERPs, devices, third-party APIs
• Interest in architecture, scaling, and long-term maintainability
• Experience working on multi-market & multilingual systems
• Previous collaboration with hardware/robotics teams
