Position Description

The Senior Outreach Representative fosters new relationships and maintains existing partnerships on Rep. Craig's behalf with stakeholders across Minnesota's Second Congressional District. The Senior Outreach Representative takes initiative and leads in the brainstorming and implementation processes for events, identifies opportunities for engagement and advances/drives Rep. Craig at events. This is not an entry-level position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Acts as the representative for the Congresswoman within their areas of responsibility, including communicating with stakeholders and serving as a liaison with local officials, thought leaders and agencies (federal, state and local)

• Manages assigned outreach portfolio of issues and stakeholders, including local elected officials, health care, education/arts and political reform

• Attends community events and meetings on behalf of the Congresswoman

• Has ownership over the district work period planning process

• Leads in brainstorming new event ideas, identifying events to attend, etc. in partnership with the Outreach Representative

• Oversees the Community Project Funding process with assistance as needed from the District Director

• Advances and drives the Congresswoman as needed

• Ensures stakeholder tracking and necessary next steps for outreach

• Offers leadership and support to the District Director and Outreach Representative in the planning of town halls

• Oversees a limited casework portfolio

• Prepares materials and information to keep the Congresswoman apprised of district events while she's in DC

• Works a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends

• Performs other duties as assigned, including phone coverage

Education (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE):

High school diploma required. Previous customer service experience and people-facing roles welcome.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

• Interest in issues and current events impacting the Second Congressional District of Minnesota

• Experience staffing a principal

• Innovative and flexible with willingness to take on new challenges

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Temperament to communicate with varying perspectives in an amiable and professional manner

• Aptitude for working cooperatively, building relationships and prioritizing engagement

• Thoroughness and attention to detail

• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in fulfillment of outreach and some casework responsibilities

• Ability to perform the essential job functions listed in this description

• Knowledge of office computer applications including word processing

Working Conditions :

• Outreach duties require work during regular office hours, including some nights and weekends

• Some opportunity to work remotely

• Must hold a valid driver's license
