Are you an experienced metallurgist with a passion for material testing, analysis, and problem-solving? We're seeking a Metallurgist to join our team and drive excellence in our metallurgical laboratory. In this role, you'll leverage your deep understanding of materials and manufacturing processes to conduct failure analyses, oversee lab operations, and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to exceed application requirements.

Key Responsibilities Technical Analysis & Reporting • Answer technical inquiries and review met lab test results. • Conduct failure analyses on materials from manufacturing, engineering, and quality processes. • Perform and interpret chemical analyses on new parts and alloys.
Process Control & Quality • Develop, audit, and report on metallurgical process controls and sediment testing protocols. • Direct production and QC teams on proper testing procedures; ensure consistent, accurate results.
Lab Management & Leadership
• Manage the lab schedule, ensuring coverage during regular hours, overtime, and weekends. • Instruct Met Lab Technicians on safe operation of equipment and testing methods with minimal production disruption. • Ensure all lab equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Collaboration & Customer Engagement • Engage with internal engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues. • Prepare and present quarterly and annual test reports. • Lead standing shift meetings, including safety talks and continuous-improvement discussions.
Qualifications • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or a related field is required. • Strong knowledge of metallurgical standards, practices, and Global Manufacturing Systems principles. • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment performing metallurgical and failure-analysis testing. • High level of analytical ability to address complex, unusual problems. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; capable of translating technical data into clear recommendations. • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration across diverse technical disciplines. • Excellent organizational skills; adept at balancing multiple tasks and shifting priorities to meet deadlines. • Proficiency with computer software for laboratory data management and analysis. • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
