Base pay range
$160,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr
Location
Washington, DC area (project in Washington, DC).
What you'll do
- Support our long-term project in Washington, DC as a Senior Mechanical Engineer and owner's representative within the Federal group.
- Act as a consultant in establishing MEP design standards and criteria for construction projects; provide expert mechanical engineering support based on these requirements.
- Perform and interpret cooling load calculations; read ductwork layouts; understand ducted and plenum return air systems, including Z-ducts and U-ducts in the design.
- Review mechanical system layouts in specialized rooms (e.g., data closets and communications rooms); ensure compliance with the client's Construction Standards and with local codes.
- Include life-cycle analysis, reviews of air and water balance (TAB) reports, and development of cost estimates and scope of work for HVAC systems.
- Participate in commissioning, quality control/assurance during construction, and construction administration duties (RFIs, field reports, submittals).
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers and federal agency clients; resolve critical or controversial issues; demonstrate resiliency when priorities shift.
- Draft and review operational sequences for HVAC systems and ensure compliance with POR, Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- 10 years of experience in HVAC building design and construction.
- Active secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
Preferred (Ideally)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 20 years of HVAC building design and construction experience.
- Federal design and construction experience.
Salary and benefits
The base salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $190,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Some roles may include merit increases, performance bonuses, and stock; eligibility varies by role.
