Senior Mechanical Engineer - Bristol Bay Native Corporation : Job Details

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide on-site Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL. This role supports the Engineering and Design Division (D4) of the Design and Construction Business Line (DCBL), contributing to critical Navy and Marine Corps infrastructure initiatives. What You'll Do:

• Lead the mechanical engineering design and review process for major facilities, utilities, and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, DoD fuel piping/storage, industrial ventilation, energy systems, and renewable energy initiatives.
• Develop and review detailed engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and design analyses for new construction and renovation projects, including MILCON and special projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct technical evaluations, provide recommendations, and resolve design challenges using innovative and compliant solutions.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, design charrettes, and technical reviews, presenting complex technical data in a clear and concise manner.
• Ensure all designs meet applicable DoD, Navy, and industry standards, codes, and policies.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional mechanical engineering experience in code-compliant facility design for new construction and renovation projects.
• Proven expertise in advanced mechanical engineering concepts and application to large, complex facilities.
• Desired: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in Autodesk software, Microsoft Office Suite, and mechanical engineering design/analysis software.
• In-depth knowledge of:
• DoD and Navy guide specifications, criteria, and policies
• ASHRAE Standards (90.1, 188.1, 62.1, 55)
• International Mechanical Code (IMC) and relevant industry codes
• Strong understanding of related engineering disciplines and their integration into mechanical design.
• Ability to produce clear written reports, consolidate findings, and deliver professional presentations.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project teams.

Fire Protection Systems Background Highly Desired If you bring experience designing or analyzing fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems-or working with NFPA codes-your expertise will be highly valued in this role. Work Environment: This is a full-time, on-site role (Monday through Friday, standard 8-hour shifts) located at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL.
